ROGERIO JOSE DE MOURA E DIAS (born in Jacarezinho, Paraná, Brazil)
Painter, sketcher, engraver, sculptor, graphic designer, cartoonist, actor, illustrator, scenographer, publisher.
Self-taught, when he was still a child Rogério had a lot of contact with the works of Sigaud (1899-1979), at the time the Jacarezinho Cathedral panels were painted.
In 1965, the artist attended a Calderari print workshop, when one of his first prints was selected for the Art Exhibition Hall in Curitiba. The following year he worked as a graphic designer, and also with photography and stands.
Starting in 1969, Rogério worked with different advertising agencies. In 1970 he entered stage setting arts, participating in the skillful “Guarda Chuva” (Umbrella) from the theatrical group XPTO. He also took part in other performances like “A Semana’ (The Week), directed by Ari-Para-Raio, He worked as a graphic designer and scenographer in plays directed by Manuel Carlos Karan. Still in 1970, he had the main lead in the movie “O Diabo Tem Mil Chifres” (The Devil has One Thousand Horns), directed by Penna Filho.
From 1975 to 1979, Rogério worked at GRAFIPAR, where he was the art director for the magazine Passarola/Varig. During this time he also collaborated (from 1976 to 1979) with Reynaldo Jardim in ANEXO, of the newspapers “Diario do Parana”, and the “Polo Cultural”.
In 1977 the artist had his first individual exposition, using wrapping paper for paste-ups, which suggested birds flying. At this time with Rettamozo and Solda for the Informativo de Arte (Art Informative), a newsletter published in 1978 by the Acaiaca Gallery.
In 1981, Rogério worked with the advertising agency Multipla, creating dolls for the award winning campaign “Papai Noel Cor de Rosa” (Pink Santa Claus). Soon after that, he was hired as the art director. During the 1980’s he worked as an illustrator for the newspapers “Correio Brasiliense” (1983) and the “Correio de Notícias” (1984 and 1985). In 1986 he returned to Brasilia where he worked with Reynaldo Jardim at the Fundação Cultural do Distrito Federal (Federal District Cultural Foundation),
From this time on, Rogério committed himself exclusively to plastic arts. Before dedicating himself to painting, he had worked with sculptures, paste-ups, photography and also experimented with graphs, using for themes the female face and body, always overusing colors.
Still during the 1980’s Rogério started to portray death in nature, always associated with birds. Birds start to be a recurrent theme of his works, up to the point that they became their central element.
In 1984 the artist worked with panels (outdoor signs) to promote “Arte Na Rua” - MAC/SP (Art on the Streets). In the 1990’s he returned to the advertising agency Umuarama of the Bamerindus Group, to work as an illustrator

In 1996 Created the project for the panel Rio Iguassu ( 48,00 m x 4,85m).
